Ready to stop doubting yourself?

If you answered the above question with a: “yes! Wait, no? Like, yeah, but I’m a little nervous and also maybe scared about what’s going to come up if I start therapy. I don’t have that much to talk about. Except… no wait, that's not important.”

then you’ve come to the right place

Emma Turner, LMHC | LPC
New York and New Jersey

Hey,

I’m Emma

I help women and girls* that have it within them to believe in themselves and really put the work in to make positive change with the support of someone who can approach treatment through a kind, compassionate, and, oftentimes, a little silly lens.

I help my clients find fulfillment in their decisions and build self-esteem by equipping them with the tools they need to better understand themselves and re-integrate who you are and what you’re doing in friendships, at school, or in work

*Therapy is for everyone. Check out my FAQ for a deeper explanation!

Sooo… how does it work?

Listen, I hate to say it but we’ve gotta know where you’ve been before we know where to go. Understanding this history will allow us to know what paved the way towards you feeling unsure, walked-upon, needing to please everyone around you and not yourself.

Then, we work on boundary-setting, processing, and examining your mindset in a way that will actually be most effective for you. Through our work together, you’ll become equipped with the skills to better understand the “little t” traumas that have impacted you and how you can cultivate a sense of strength in yourself.

I am dedicated to helping people
believe in themselves

My training in:

  • anxiety

  • trauma

  • women’s mental health

means I have the expertise you need and deserve when fostering a gentleness around your thoughts, feelings, and actions. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be: a people pleaser struggling with anxiety, right? Or someone who feels out of control of their own body. Or someone who just wants to see what other people see in them because they can’t see it for themselves.

I get it because as a worrier, Type A, Virgo myself, I know that sometimes it feels like you are so bound to doing things the way it has always been done or in ways you’ve always done it. Because it’s always worked for you, right? As someone who has dedicated my entire practice to treating anxiety and trauma through a feminist perspective, I recognize that it feels so helpless to be trapped in these cycles of hyper vigilance, fear, and stress.

So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through.
